My thoughts on breast cancer awareness month

22 Oct

I really don’t know how more people aren’t angry about this.

The month of pink.  The month of extra races to raise money for the “cure.”  The month of “fighting.”  The month of “surviving.”
I will probably piss some people off with this post.  And I think of that as a good thing.

I’m going to be blunt and won’t even try to blame it on the couple beers I’ve consumed this evening (I started this post a couple nights ago..it was the weekend!).  You know what’s a joke?  Any day/week/month of any “cancer awareness.”  Are there really people out there that aren’t “aware” of cancer?  Do we really have to raise millions of dollars to tell people there’s this sucky disease called cancer?
NO.

You know what else you should get pissed off about?  Your money that you donated that you THINK is going to a good cause…is actually going in multiple people’s wallets…people who would lose their jobs is there ever was actually a “cure.”

But wait…how can we solve something if we don’t know the initial problem that CAUSES that something to happen?  My point exactly.

Why aren’t breast cancer patients educated on super herbs that can have the potential to actually kill cancer like chaparral, thuja, cleavers, & a whole big list of other ones?  Why aren’t they told not to buy food that comes from a package and to eat and juice organic leafy greens many times daily?  Why don’t they know that turmeric is practically radiation in and of itself?  Why aren’t they told that an IV of extremely high doses of vitamin C actually works better than chemotherapy AND wouldn’t cause hair loss?

Some possible answers:

-now a big company can’t make a ridiculous profit off pink wigs and other head cover ups if people aren’t losing their hair…

-actually getting at the ROOT cause of cancer would ensure people wouldn’t get it again…oh but that would also cause them to stop buying ridiculous cancer drugs.  God forbid people stop paying thousands of dollars in pharmaceuticals!

-the cancer industry would be out of business

-ridiculous cancer “non-profits” would also go out of business because we wouldn’t need to “race for the cure” anymore.

Once you start asking questions…you can’t stop….

Now before you go making nasty comments towards me or thinking I’m a cold-hearted bitch…let me just say I HATE CANCER.  I’ve worked in a cancer hospital.  I’ve had family & friends suffer from cancer.  I’ve seen so many other people’s friends and family suffer from cancer.  Yes, it should die!!

But our society has become so blind.  We come together in the masses, donate thousands of dollars to cancer “research” or to “race for the cure.”  But where is that money going?  Why do we get so energized over masses of pink and signs that contain names of deceased loved ones?  I mean seriously…think about it for a sec.  What and who are we really helping with all of the hype?  Yes it shows people fucking hate cancer and know so many that have died from it…but how does that help with “fighting” cancer?  Why are we almost “boasting” about how many loved ones we know that have died of cancer?  Why don’t we brag about all the ways cancer can be PREVENTED? (yes even if you have “cancer genes”)

Society has become so brain-washed when it comes to the war on cancer.  The idea that cancer CAN be PREVENTED AND CURED naturally is so ludicrous to a majority of the population and I guarantee I will get more hate mail for posting such thoughts.  But really.  You ask typical medical professionals in hospitals what causes cancer and you won’t get an answer.

Less than 2% of your money you donate to cancer causes goes to prevention…In fact most cancer non-profits don’t even do ANYTHING in regards prevention!  The corporate sites I have seen that have educated on nutrition and cancer prevention basically say to “eat healthy & exercise” and to include “fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and lean meats” in the diet.  Well Thank you captain obvious!  That’s what everyone tells us to eat!  that’s not exactly a cancer prevention diet…

And not to say that there is one exact cancer prevention diet.  But if you are trying to PREVENT cancer…instead of surgically removing one’s breasts, maybe one should follow a strict vegan diet, overdose DAILY on organic greens, eat NOTHING out of a package, consume the highest quality of anti-cancer herbs you can find, go on a worm & parasite cleanse, use SAFE and ORGANIC personal care items (or even better, homemade!) and do the Gerson Therapy.  Rewind to the beginning of that sentence….what I find fucked up is that people feel empowered and even sometimes boast about choosing to surgically remove one of the most feminine parts of their bodies FOR PREVENTION yet they are NEVER told nor educated on these alternate therapies & holistic nutrition that are (most of the time) way MORE effective than any chemo in the world and actually ADDRESS THE ROOT CAUSE OF CANCER (no fault on the patient obviously but shame on physician’s for brainwashing us this way!  Fuck all the “save the boobies” campaigns when physicians just want to cut them off!!  Oh the hypocrisy) .  What does removing your breasts do?  Removes your most feminine body part basically.  No one is addressing WHY those women will probably get breast cancer and I can guarantee that most of the time it is not the simple fact that they have boobies and/or the cancer “gene”.

And my thoughts on mammograms?  Unnecessary.  Natural News perfectly sums up my views on them in this article:

“A new study by researchers from the Nordic Cochrane Centre in Denmark found that mammograms may harm ten times as many women as they help.

The researchers examined the benefits and negative effects of seven breast cancer screening programs on 500,000 women in the United States, Canada, Scotland and Sweden. The study’s authors found that for every 2,000 women who received mammograms over a 10-year period, only one would have her life prolonged, but 10 would endure unnecessary and potentially harmful treatments.”

Got that? For every 2,000 women receiving mammograms, only ONE would have her life extended at all. TEN women, though, would be harmed with chemotherapy, radiation or mastectomies.

What the study didn’t point out, by the way, is that all these treatments are highly profitable for the cancer industry. That’s the real reason why mammograms are pushed so aggressively onto women. It’s not because mammograms detect cancer; it’s because mammograms make them money.

To the breast cancer industry, a woman is nothing more than a piece of meat with a cash reward attached to it. The push for mammography is a marketing ploy designed to keep women scared, misinformed and lined up to be poisoned with chemotherapy while they shell out their life savings for treatments that, for most of them, aren’t even medically justified!

I could write/talk FOREVER about this topic but those are just some of my thoughts!  We really don’t need fancy equipment, research, or drugs to get rid of cancer….we need the power of food and most importantly, OURSELVES!  We have the fight within us and don’t need to suffer or waste more money on the “cure” when it’s right under our noses.
